UPDATE: 4th Annual Farm Fresh Pitchfest – NOW ONLINE through Zoom Webinar

March 26, 2020 @ 6:00 pm 8:00 pm

UPDATE (3/19)

In response to COVID-19 and social distancing protocols or everyone’s health and safety, CFAC has transitioned the Fourth Annual Farm Fresh Pitchfest to an online platform using Zoom Webinar. We will still hear the stories and visions of our Pitchmakers and will have support staff available to you to help to you access Kiva.org to make your micro loan as part of this awesome crowdfunding opportunity. And this project has never been more timely! With closures of farmers markets and uncertainty in direct market channels, it has never been more important for our community to come together to support our beginning farmers, ranchers, and entrepreneurs.

During this event, CFAC endorses farmers, ranchers, or local food business owners who apply for a 0% interest, no-fee, up-to- $10,000 crowd-funded Kiva loan.

At the free, live event, our selected Farm Fresh Pitchfest finalists pitch their Kiva loan projects in front of a live audience of investors, business people, and community members who want to support Montana’s local food system. In the words of one previous finalist, “Pitchfest gave me a great boost to get started and helped spread the word about my business.” You can learn more about previous events at https://bit.ly/32gkBFV.

This year we are proud to introduce three new businesses:

  • Sarah Johnson from Tangled Carrot Farm, seeking $10,000 in start-up equipment and fencing for her 1 acre farm providing healthful fresh fruits and veggies for the Stevensville community.

  • Andrew Holman from Back to the Mother Microbrewed Kombucha, seeking $8,500 in equipment to increase bottling efficiency, labeling, and marketing for direct and wholesale accounts.

  • Melissa Allred from Aspen Grove Farm, seeking $10,000 in irrigation infrastructure to expand her farm’s fruit production with a focus on making Montana the honeyberry capital of the US.

Since the inception of Pitchfest, CFAC has facilitated $115,000 in crowd-sourced interest-free loans for our producer members to become successful farm and food businesses. With as little as $25 you too can help turn these entrepreneur’s dreams into reality.
