The Beginning Farmer & Rancher Trainers Network will be holding a virtual learning and discussion session, in two sessions Aug 5th and 6th from 10-11:30a MT both days.
Our speakers:
Day 1: Garry Stephenson- Oregon State University Small Farm Program and author of Whole Farm Management, will discuss their research in Beginning Farmer and Rancher Developmental Stages to Enhance Educational Program Design
Day 2: Seth Wilner – University of New Hampshire Agricultural Business Management Field Specialist and certified Holistic Management instructor, will discuss how to apply these finding through adult education principles to your own trainings.
Format: While this is a virtual training, we will be doing virtual breakout rooms and feature farmer/ rancher profiles and keep it as interactive as possible. We’ll be using the Planning For On-Farm Success workshops as a case study to practice the concepts shared by our speakers.
